Jo McKenzie

Jo McKenzie is a part-time Professor in the Teaching Learning and Curriculum Unit at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She previously served as Director of the Institute for Interactive Media and Learning (2007-2018) and has over 30 years of experience in higher education teaching and academic development. Her work focuses on learning and teaching innovation, recognition of teaching excellence, and professional development for educators.

Education:

• PhD in Higher Education, University of Technology Sydney

Research Interests: Academic practice transformation, university teaching methodologies, phenomenography, variation theory, and the future of higher education. She emphasizes student-centered learning environments and the integration of technology in education.

Grants & Leadership:

• Principal Investigator on OLT grants addressing teaching innovation dissemination and peer review
• Co-led projects on sessional staff professional development and curriculum design
• Contributed to UTS's First Year Experience program (OLT-awarded initiative)
