Jo Ann Kaye is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Rehabilitation Therapy at the University of Sunderland. She is a registered Sports Therapist and Physiotherapist with experience in sports, NHS, and private practice settings. She teaches on the BSc (Hons) Sport and Rehabilitation Therapy and BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programs, serving as module leader for SPO115 Introduction to Sport and Rehab Therapy Practice 1 and SPO327 Complex and Contemporary Rehabilitation.
- Education: BA Sports Science and Injury Management (York St John), MSc Sports Therapy and Physiotherapy (Teesside University), PhD in embodied experiences of menopausal women during physical activity (Durham University)
Research Interests: Her work focuses on two key areas: (1) psychological strategies in physiotherapy education, particularly student physiotherapists' implementation of goal setting in ACL rehabilitation, and (2) women's health, with emphasis on menopause and its impact on physical activity experiences. She also explores pedagogical approaches in health professions education.
Professional Affiliation: Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is based in Darwin 124 at the University of Sunderland.
