Jiuzu Hong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University (2012), supervised by Joseph Bernstein, and previously served as a Gibbs Assistant Professor at Yale University (2012–2015).
Educational Background:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Tel Aviv University, 2012
- Gibbs Assistant Professor, Yale University, 2012–2015
Research Interests: Hong focuses on advanced topics in representation theory and algebraic geometry, including the affine Grassmannian, Schubert varieties, conformal blocks, affine Demazure modules, parahoric group schemes, and moduli of G-bundles. His work bridges geometric and algebraic methodologies, with recent emphasis on their interplay in representation theory.
Professional Activities:
- Organized the Workshop on Geometric Representation Theory and Moduli Spaces at UNC Chapel Hill (Nov 17–19, 2023)
- Co-organized the Virtual Workshop on Geometric Representation Theory (July 25–29, 2022)
Contact: Office located at Chapman Hall 445, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
