معرفی
Assoc. Prof. Jitka Stráská, Ph.D., serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Materials Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague. She joined the department in 2014 after completing her PhD and a research position at Výzkumný ústav kovů. Her work focuses on ultrafine-grained magnesium materials and their properties.
Her academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Physics (2005-2008), followed by a Master's in Physics of Condensed Systems and Physics of Materials (2008-2010), and culminated in a PhD in Physics of Condensed Matter and Materials Research (2010-2014), all at Charles University.
Prof. Stráská's research expertise lies in the microstructure, mechanical properties, and superplastic behavior of ultrafine-grained magnesium alloys. She employs scanning electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) for detailed microstructural analysis. Her international collaborations span institutions in South Korea, USA, Russia, Germany, and Slovakia, enhancing the scope of her investigations.
Analysis of her eight publications from 2010-2014 reveals a consistent focus on magnesium alloys (particularly AZ31) processed by severe plastic deformation. Key research themes include microstructure stability, mechanical property evolution, corrosion resistance, and texture development, positioning her work at the forefront of lightweight structural materials research.
She has successfully obtained two GAUK research grants: one (2010-2012) investigating structure stability of ultrafine-grained Mg alloys, and another (2012-2014) on experimental and theoretical analysis of magnesium alloys with high deformation energy. Additionally, she supervises bachelor's and master's theses in materials science.
Her laboratory work is centered at Charles University's Department of Materials Physics, where she utilizes advanced microscopy facilities. She actively collaborates with international teams including POSTECH University (South Korea), Argonne National Laboratory (USA), and Clausthal University of Technology (Germany), among others.
