Jiten Patel

Jiten Patel, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in nephrology with a focus on renal sonography, glomerulonephritis, and dialysis, particularly addressing the needs of underserved populations. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2015.

Dr. Patel holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana, a medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and completed residency in internal medicine and a nephrology fellowship at UT Southwestern. He is board-certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

His research interests center on nephrology diagnostics and care disparities in dialysis populations. He is an active member of professional organizations including the American Society of Nephrology and the American Medical Association, and has delivered invited lectures and published academic articles.

Dr. Patel is affiliated with the Division of Nephrology at UT Southwestern. His interests outside medicine include technology, home improvement, and sports/entertainment.
