Jinhua Sun

Jinhua Sun is an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial and Materials Science, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. His research focuses on multifunctional materials like graphene, MXene, polymers, and metals for applications in batteries, supercapacitors, sensors, and anti-corrosion systems.

He specializes in in situ/operando characterization to study material mechanisms during energy storage. Current projects include advanced battery manufacturing technologies with industrial partners, supported by grants from the Swedish Research Council, VINNOVA, and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

Recent publications highlight innovations in high-temperature micro-supercapacitors, photothermal catalysis, and light-driven ion transport using 2D materials. His work bridges fundamental material science with scalable industrial applications.
