Florida Agricultural and Mechanical Universityمعرفی
Dr. Jingqiu Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Biological Systems Engineering Program at Florida A&M University (FAMU) within the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University (2018), with prior degrees from Nanjing Agricultural University (M.S. 2013, B.S. 2010). Her research focuses on data-driven approaches for urban, agricultural, and water resource management, including stormwater runoff modeling under climate change, hydrological systems optimization, and green infrastructure development. She designs computer and internet-based tools for hydrology research and education, such as the GeoAPEX-P web platform and AguaRiego irrigation decision support systems.
Dr. Chen’s work integrates remote sensing, environmental modeling, and systems optimization to address challenges in urban sustainability, water quality, and coastal resource management. She has contributed to projects in China, Algeria, and the U.S., emphasizing scalable solutions for sustainable land and water use. Her expertise spans large-scale hydrological modeling, pesticide environmental assessment, and precision agriculture phenotyping tools for HBCU communities. She joined FAMU in 2021 and actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects linking engineering, ecology, and policy.
