معرفی
Jing Zhicheng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Space Sciences at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen, China. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University (2013-2018) and held a postdoctoral position at the University of Chicago's Center for Advanced Radiation Sources (2010-2013). His academic journey began with a B.S. (2000) and M.S. (2003) in Geophysics at Peking University, followed by a Ph.D. in Geology and Geophysics from Yale University (2010).
- Education
- B.S., Department of Geophysics, Peking University (1996-2000)
- M.S., Department of Geophysics, Peking University (2000-2003)
- Ph.D., Department of Geology and Geophysics, Yale University (2003-2010)
Jing's research focuses on mineral physics and Earth/planetary interior physics, investigating physical/chemical properties of planetary materials under extreme conditions. His work combines high-pressure experiments using large-volume hydraulic presses and synchrotron X-ray facilities with theoretical approaches to study mantle/core materials. Key areas include deep volatile cycles (water/carbon), seismic velocity anomalies, and planetary evolution.
His recent publications (2020-2023) demonstrate expertise in silicate melt characterization, Fe-alloy dynamics, and mantle mineral acoustics. Notable journals include Nature, Nature Communications, PNAS, and EPSL. He serves as Associate Editor for American Mineralogist and Frontiers in Earth Science: Earth and Planetary Materials, reflecting his leadership in peer-reviewed scholarship.
