Jing Zhang is an Instructional Associate Professor in Chinese Studies at the University of Houston's College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's in Arts from Peking University, with a focus on World Literature. Since 1999, she has taught Chinese language courses at all levels and contributed to academic advising and study abroad programs.
Her research interests span Chinese language pedagogy, comparative literature, and educational administration. She has published works on literary analysis, educational theory, and mythological symbolism in texts like *One Hundred Years of Solitude*. Her translations and co-edited works reflect her expertise in bridging cultural and academic divides.
Jing has received prestigious teaching awards, including the Ross M. Lence Award (2015) and Provost Teaching Excellence Award (2016). She led the AP Chinese reading program as a team leader and actively advises student organizations. Her involvement in the UH Chinese Study Abroad Program includes serving as resident director in 2007, 2008, and 2011.
She has taught courses ranging from elementary Chinese to advanced cultural studies modules using film and literature. Her publications emphasize pedagogical innovation and cross-cultural understanding.
