Dr. Jing Jiang is an Associate Professor and Head of Subject (Electrical Engineering) at Northumbria University's Department of Mathematics, Physics & Electrical Engineering since 2018. She holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Edinburgh (2011) and has held research positions at the University of Surrey and Durham University. Her work focuses on AI-driven energy systems, smart grids, and next-generation wireless communications. She leads major projects such as the EU-funded TESTBED2 (€1.46M) and UKRI's VPP-WARD (£1.84M), advancing energy resilience and decarbonisation.
Research Interests: AI & Digital Twins in future energy systems, data-driven energy scheduling, wireless technologies for smart grids, cyber security, and 6G systems. She actively contributes to IEEE conferences/journals and serves as an EPSRC-WES Ambassador for Women in Engineering.
