Jing Chen is a Professor in the Psychology Department at Grand Valley State University. She holds a B.A. from Beijing Normal University and M.A. and Ph.D. from Washington University. Her work focuses on developmental psychology, maternal mind-mindedness, and cognitive aging, with a particular emphasis on community-based interventions and early developmental outcomes.
Chen’s research explores how maternal mind-mindedness (MMM) influences child development and investigates predictors of developmental delay using tools like the Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ). She has also contributed to understanding cognitive aging and individual differences in speeded cognitive tasks.
Recent publications highlight her work on universal screening programs for developmental delay, meta-analyses of parental mind-mindedness, and neurocognitive studies on aging. Her research spans developmental psychology, educational gerontology, and cognitive neuroscience.
