Jinbo Xie is an Associate Research Scholar at the High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI) of Princeton University, where he conducts research on climate science and modeling, energy and environmental engineering, and oceans and atmosphere.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D in Meteorology, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, CAS (2017)
- Bachelor's degree, Beijing Normal University (2011)
Xie's research interests center on Earth system model (ESM) development and application, with a focus on stratospheric chemistry, parameterization of sub-grid orographic drag in ESMs, land-atmosphere coupling, detection and attribution of extreme events, and ensemble forecasting. He combines model development with observational analysis to understand human and natural processes shaping the climate, aiming to provide insights for mitigation and adaptation strategies.
