Dr. Jin Zhang is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Adelaide, based at Wine Innovation Central in Waite. She is affiliated with the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, focusing on yeast performance in winemaking environments.

With over ten years of experience, Dr. Zhang completed her PhD in wine microbiology in 2014, investigating nitrogen-efficient yeast strains. Her current work employs high-throughput screening of yeast collections to identify genetic-phenotypic correlations, unravel adaptive mechanisms in grape must, and develop novel strains with desirable oenological traits. Projects span high-throughput fermentations for new grape cultivars and microbial signaling during fermentation.
