Jin Yung Bae is a Clinical Associate Professor of Public Health Policy and Management at the NYU School of Global Public Health. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from NYU and has extensive experience in policy analysis, litigation, and public health implementation.

Her research focuses on intersections between public health laws and socioeconomic/racial disparities, including firearm regulation, immigrant health access, and post-Roe abortion policy impacts. She led NIH-sponsored studies on state public health law adoption patterns and co-led a randomized controlled trial evaluating NYC’s ActionHealthNYC program for undocumented immigrants. She also analyzed federal/state policies on insurance eligibility and financing.
At NYC Health Department, she managed high-profile pandemic responses like a $21.5M immigrant emergency cash assistance program and research on Trump-era public charge rule impacts. Her work has informed federal court decisions and policy reforms.
