Jin-Woo Kim

Jin-Woo Kim is a Distinguished Professor in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Materials Science & Engineering at the University of Arkansas, with an Adjunct Professorship in Electrical Engineering at Pohang University of Science & Technology (POSTECH). He directs the Bio/Nano Technology Group and has held visiting positions at Harvard University and Brookhaven National Laboratory.

His research in biologically inspired nanotechnology focuses on programmable self-assembly of nanomaterials for biomimetic advanced materials. Key applications include theranostics, tissue engineering, drug delivery, and microfluidics. His work on cellulose nanocrystals, carbon nanotubes, and DNA nanostructures has led to over 140 publications and 240 presentations.

Recent publications highlight advancements in 3D bioprinting, THz bioimaging, and programmable nanomaterials. His 2023-2025 articles emphasize scalable nanocomposite fabrication, controlled drug delivery systems, and hybrid bio/nano diagnostics.
