Jin Huang is the Irving Louis Horowitz Professor in Social Policy at the Brown School, Washington University in St. Louis, and Associate Director for Research at the Center for Social Development (CSD). A globally recognized expert in financial capability and asset-building policies for vulnerable populations, his work focuses on universal frameworks to improve child and family well-being through structural economic interventions.

Research spans Child Development Accounts (CDAs), financial social work, and global policy innovations in the U.S., China, Singapore, and Kazakhstan. He leads the SEED for Oklahoma Kids experiment, a universal CDA initiative, and co-leads the Grand Challenges for Social Work Network to Build Financial Capability and Assets for All. His scholarship appears in JAMA Pediatrics, American Journal of Public Health, and Social Science & Medicine.
Recent awards include induction into the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (2025) and inclusion in the Stanford University-Elsevier World's Top 2% of Scientists in Social Work (2024). He has delivered national training programs in China and collaborates with institutions like the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the People’s Bank of China’s financial education foundation.
