Jin Cheon Na

Assoc Prof Jin Cheon Na serves as an Associate Professor within the Division of Information Studies at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University. His academic role centers on advancing information processing methodologies through the integration of cutting-edge techniques from multiple disciplines, including machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, human-computer interaction, and natural language processing.

Dr Na holds a PhD from Texas A&M University where he developed the context-aware Trellis (caT), a pioneering context-aware hypertext model. Prior to joining NTU, he accumulated six and a half years of research experience as a senior researcher at Korea's Agency for Defense Development, contributing to military research projects before transitioning to academia.

His research spans Info-Communication Technology with specialized expertise in Digital Libraries, Hypertext & Hypermedia systems, Document Engineering, and Knowledge Organization frameworks. Dr Na has published over 40 papers in international journals and conferences, demonstrating consistent contributions to interdisciplinary information science through applications of machine learning, natural language processing, and human-computer interaction techniques for advanced information processing solutions.
