Jim Clayton is Professor and Timothy R. Price Chair in Real Estate and Infrastructure at York University's Schulich School of Business, where he directs the Brookfield Centre in Real Estate & Infrastructure. He leads Canada's first Master of Real Estate and Infrastructure (MREI) program, bridging academic and industry perspectives.
Clayton's research examines climate risk in real estate pricing, technology transformations in property markets, and urban development dynamics. Before joining academia, he served as Head of Real Estate Investment Strategy at Barings, advising on global portfolio strategy and fund development.
His work has influenced industry practices in climate risk assessment and infrastructure investment, with publications analyzing market adjustments for environmental factors and capital flow patterns.
