Jim Allen is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at SUNY Geneseo. His research focuses on environmental psychology, social influence, and the psychology of happiness. He holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University (1993) and a B.A. from Auburn University (1983).
Research interests include understanding motivations for environmentally friendly behavior and the interplay between social contexts and individual well-being. He teaches courses such as the Psychology of Happiness and Social Psychology, emphasizing empirical approaches to human behavior.
Student opportunities involve research assistant roles focusing on data collection, analysis, and literature reviews. Preferred candidates have completed PSYC 251 and show interest in environmental psychology.
