Jill Roberta Kelly is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health. Her expertise lies at the intersection of geographic information systems and environmental health research, with a focus on spatial analysis methods applied to public health challenges.

Dr. Kelly's research focuses on the development and application of GIS and other spatial methods to study environmental phenomena. As a geospatial generalist, she has interests in morphology, areal aggregation, and raster analysis. Her dissertation research explored the spatial aggregation of lidar measurements in predicting spatially explicit estimates of forest biomass. Her work spans multiple areas including environmental health, disease mapping, and statistical computing, with particular relevance to understanding the geographical distribution of infectious diseases and environmental risks. Her public health interests specifically include GIS/disease mapping, environmental health, and statistical computing.
Her recent publications demonstrate a strong trend toward applying spatial analysis techniques to public health challenges, particularly in the areas of infectious disease epidemiology and environmental risk assessment. She has published in high-impact journals including PLOS ONE, JAMA Network Open, and Pathogens, with research spanning from tick-borne diseases to cancer epidemiology and wildfire preparedness.
