معرفی
Jihoon Jeong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on advanced manufacturing processes, particularly metal additive manufacturing (AM) and semiconductor packaging, with an emphasis on process monitoring, control, and in-situ thermal characterization. He holds a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin and degrees from KAIST (M.S. 2011, B.S. 2009).
Research Interests:
- Advanced Manufacturing: Metal AM, semiconductor packaging
- In-situ thermal characterization using laser spectroscopy
- Data-driven models for process control
Recent Work Trends: His publications emphasize directed energy deposition (DED), melt pool temperature control, and hybrid thermal modeling using physics-informed neural networks. Key themes include improving AM quality via real-time monitoring and optimizing material behavior through thermal analysis.
Lab & Collaborations: The Jeong Research Group develops interdisciplinary solutions for manufacturing challenges, collaborating with thermal science, materials science, and data science fields. They seek PhD/MS/undergraduate researchers for Spring/Fall 2026.
