Jier Huang is a Professor of Chemistry at Boston College, affiliated with the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society. His research focuses on designing hybrid porous and semiconducting materials to correlate structure with photophysical/photochemical properties for sustainable energy applications.

His group explores structural isomerization effects, charge separation, and hole transport pathways to optimize photocatalytic efficiency.
The Huang group has recently published in high-impact journals such as JACS and Angewandte Chemie, focusing on 2D MOFs, COFs, and π-d conjugated coordination polymers. Key trends include leveraging structural engineering for enhanced photophysical behavior and sustainable energy applications.
