Dr. Jicheng Fu is a Professor and the John T. Beresford Endowed Chair in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Oklahoma. He joined UCO in Fall 2009 and serves as the director of the Software Engineering major, which achieved ABET accreditation and was ranked 24th nationally in 2022.

Dr. Fu's research spans Automated Program Synthesis, AI Planning, Machine Learning, and Biomedical Engineering. His work uniquely bridges theoretical computer science with practical healthcare applications, particularly in assistive technology for wheelchair users. He has developed intelligent systems for pressure ulcer prevention and personalized guidance on wheelchair tilt and recline usage, applying advanced AI techniques to solve real-world biomedical challenges.
His publication record shows consistent productivity with articles in top venues including Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, IEEE conferences, and biomedical journals. The research demonstrates a clear trajectory from theoretical AI planning to practical applications in healthcare technology.
