Jibonayan Raychaudhuri is an Associate Professor in International Economics at the University of East Anglia (UEA), affiliated with the School of Economics and the Applied Econometrics and Finance group. He holds a PhD from the University of California, Irvine and has held roles including post-doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester and Lecturer at the University of Essex.
- Educations: PhD in Economics (UC Irvine, 2009), MA in Mathematical Behavioral Sciences (UC Irvine, 2009), MA in Economics (UC Irvine, 2008), M.Phil. (Indira Gandhi Institute), and earlier degrees from Jadavpur University.
His research focuses on international trade and environmental economics, particularly examining trade policy, carbon labeling impacts, and credit constraints affecting exporters. He contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through work on sustainable consumption and environmental valuation. His teaching includes postgraduate International Trade and undergraduate Programming/Data Analytics modules.
Recent articles explore ecolabel efficacy during economic downturns, credit subsidies for exporters, and carbon reduction label effects. His work has been cited in policy documents and media, including coverage in 10+ news outlets. As Postgraduate Course Director, he oversees graduate programs and collaborates internationally on trade and environmental research.
