Jiaye Wu

Jiaye Wu is a Post-Doc and Doctoral Assistant at the Photonic Systems Laboratory (PHOSL) within the Institute of Electrical and Micro Engineering (IEM) at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). His research focuses on nonlinear optics, nanophotonics, and epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) materials, with applications in fiber lasers, waveguide networks, and functional thin films. He holds a Ph.D. from EPFL (2025), an M.Sc. from Peking University (2021), and a B.Sc. from South China Normal University (2018).

His work has been published in high-impact journals such as Nature Communications, Laser & Photonics Reviews, and ACS Photonics. He serves as a peer reviewer for multiple journals and actively contributes to professional societies like OPTICA and IEEE Photonics Society. Notable achievements include the 2023 Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad and the Best Student Paper Award at PIERS 2024.

Research interests span ultrafast light-matter interactions, ENZ-based photonic devices, and non-Hermitian optics. He collaborates on interdisciplinary projects involving photonic computing, AI-driven photonics design, and biophotonics.
