معرفی
Jianke Yang, currently serving as Williams Professor of Mathematics, University Scholar, and University Distinguished Professor at the University of Vermont, is a leading researcher in applied mathematics and nonlinear wave phenomena. Affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics within the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, he has been a faculty member since 1994 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2005.
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, MIT (1994)
- B.S. in Mathematics, Tsinghua University (1989)
His research spans applied mathematics, nonlinear waves, nonlinear optics, and numerical methods, with applications in fiber telecommunications, oceanography, and photonic lattice engineering. Recent work focuses on rogue wave patterns, PT-symmetric systems, and soliton dynamics in complex potentials.
Key article trends include nonlinear wave behavior in PT-symmetric and non-PT-symmetric systems, rogue wave formation in integrable and non-integrable equations, and soliton stability analysis in multi-dimensional photonic lattices. His publications emphasize mathematical-physical duality, bridging theoretical advancements with practical applications.
Scientific honors include:
- Fellow of Optica (2014)
- OSA (now Optica) Fellow
- Editor-in-Chief of Studies in Applied Mathematics (2014-2019)
- Book-series editor for Springer Tracts in Modern Physics (2018–present)
- UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences Faculty Award for Excellence in Research (2014)
He has contributed to over 140 research articles and authored three monographs, including Nonlinear Waves in Integrable and Nonintegrable Systems (SIAM, 2010) and Parity-time Symmetry and Its Applications (Springer, 2018). His work has been cited extensively in journals like Rev. Mod. Phys. and Phys. Rev. Lett..
