Jianjun Zhang

Dr. Jianjun Zhang serves as Professor in the Department of Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology and holds a secondary Professor appointment in the Department of Genomic Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, operating within the Division of Cancer Medicine.

His academic journey began with MD and PhD degrees from Tongji Medical University and Peking Union Medical College in China, followed by a cancer genomics research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering (2002-2008) and clinical training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He joined MD Anderson in 2011 as a Clinical Fellow and C.G. Johnson Advanced Scholar.

Research focuses on lung cancer genomics and immunogenomics, specifically investigating molecular biomarker discovery and experimental therapeutics through analysis of tumor evolution. His work bridges computational biology with clinical oncology to develop targeted treatments.
