Jiangxia (Renee) Liu is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the College of Business at Valparaiso University. Previously, she served as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Accounting Program at Gannon University. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas and a CMA certification from the Institute of Management Accountants. Her academic journey includes a B.S. from Chongqing University and an M.S. from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Dr. Liu’s research focuses on supply chain disruptions, cross-cultural business analysis, stock market impact studies, and executive compensation dynamics. She has extensively explored how cultural factors influence corporate decision-making and stock market reactions to adverse events. Her work often integrates event study methodologies to analyze market responses to disruptions like terrorism, supply chain failures, and corporate governance issues.
Her publications span topics such as cross-cultural multi-country analyses of corporate news announcements, gender-based executive pay in Indian companies, and the financial implications of supply chain disruptions in global industries like automotive and manufacturing. Her research bridges accounting, finance, and international business, contributing to both academic discourse and practical risk management strategies.
As a certified management accountant, Dr. Liu emphasizes practical applications of financial analysis in corporate environments. Her academic leadership includes directing academic programs, reflecting her commitment to fostering the next generation of accounting professionals.
