Jianglong Yu

Jianglong Yu is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at Monash University, where he also serves as Vice-President of the Suzhou Campus and Vice-Dean of the Monash-Southeast University Joint Graduate School. He maintains an honorary professorship at the University of Newcastle. His academic qualifications include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Newcastle (2003), an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Liaoning Technical University (1991), and a BSc in Materials Science from the same institution (1988).

Professor Yu's research spans multiple cutting-edge areas including clean energy conversion from coal and biomass, hydrogen energy systems, advanced carbon nanomaterials for batteries, catalytic flameless combustion, and AI applications in chemical processes. His work significantly contributes to sustainable development goals related to clean energy and industrial innovation.

He has secured AUD 7.36 million across 56 research grants, supervised 70 higher-degree researchers (28 PhD, 42 Masters), and produced 224 journal publications. His recent articles focus on pyrolysis optimization, biodiesel efficiency, and waste valorization using machine learning techniques.
