Jianbing Jiang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati since 2018. He holds a B.S. from Jiangnan University (2007), M.S. from East China University of Science and Technology (2010), and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University (2015). After postdoctoral research at Yale University (2015–2017), he became an Associate Research Scientist there before joining UC.
His research focuses on electrocatalytic systems for energy storage, including redox flow batteries, molecular catalyst design for CO₂ reduction, and sustainable energy solutions. Key areas include PEGylation-enhanced battery stability, main-group element catalysis, and degradation of environmental pollutants like PFAS.
He has secured multiple grants, including NSF CAREER awards and Sloan Foundation funding, totaling over $1M in research support. His work has been published in journals like ChemSusChem, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, and Nature Communications.
Academic service includes roles on departmental committees, graduate admissions, and faculty development initiatives. He advises doctoral students and supervises postdoctoral researchers in his lab.
