معرفی
Dr. Jian Cui is a Principal Investigator at the Helmholtz Pioneer Campus (Helmholtz Zentrum München) and affiliated with the TUM School of Natural Sciences. He leads the nanoPROBE Lab, focusing on nanomaterials and photonics for optical biosensing and engineering. Previously, he held postdoctoral positions at ETH Zurich and MIT, and earned his PhD in Physical Chemistry from MIT and B.S. in Chemistry from Stanford University.
Research Interests: Exploiting nanoscale materials for bio-sensing and imaging, plasmonics, semiconductor nanocrystals, and nanophotonic device fabrication. The lab integrates engineered nanomaterials with advanced optical techniques to probe biological systems.
- Key Achievements: Developed defect-tolerant plasmonic resonators, colloidal quantum dot spasers, and compact high-quality nanocrystals for low-blinking emission.
- Awards: ETH/Marie Curie Fellowship (2014), NSF Fellowship (2009), and MRS Silver Award (2012).
Grants and advising: Active in multidisciplinary projects funded by EU and national grants, with a focus on biosensing and energy transfer systems.
