Jiacheng Li is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the York Structural Biology Laboratory and Department of Chemistry, University of York, collaborating with Prof. Gideon Grogan and Dr. Will Unsworth. His research bridges organic chemistry and structural biology, focusing on catalytic methods for green chemistry and pharmaceutical synthesis.
- Education: DPhil in Organic Chemistry, Monash University (2023)
Research Interests center on photoredox catalysis and EDA complex reactions under LED light, previously exploring blue and UVA LED-driven cross-coupling and organocatalytic transformations. Currently, he investigates Unspecific Peroxygenases (UPOs) for scalable reactions in small molecular complexes and pharmaceutical targets, emphasizing green chemistry and sustainable synthesis.
The four recent articles highlight his expertise in LED-mediated catalysis, spanning Minisci-type alkylation, α-aminoalkylation, and C-C bond formation, with applications in pharmaceutical synthesis and environmentally friendly organic reactions. Key methodologies include Hantzsch esters, photoredox catalysts, and UPOs-based enzymatic systems.
