Jeung Woon Lee

Dr. Jeung Woon Lee serves as an Associate Professor of Physiology at the School of Dental Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), where he teaches medical physiology to dental students through problem-based learning and lectures for the Master of Medical Science program while maintaining an active neuroscience research program.

Research Expertise: Dr. Lee's work centers on neuropathic pain mechanisms and neural repair strategies, with significant contributions to understanding embryonic stem cell applications, nerve injury-induced microglial activation, and peripheral neuropathy modeling. His research bridges fundamental physiological processes with clinical applications for neurological disorders.

Institutional Leadership: He chairs the Academic Rank and Promotion committee, serves on Research and Faculty Development committees, and acts as an alternate Institutional Review Board member. Dr. Lee actively mentors students in research leading to publications and serves as a peer reviewer for numerous scientific journals.
