Jesús Israel Pagán Muñoz

Jesús Israel Pagán Muñoz is an Associate Professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), leading the research group 'Determinants of Plant Virus Seed Transmission and Speciation' at the Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas (UPM-INIA/CSIC). His work focuses on understanding plant virus emergence, speciation, and seed transmission dynamics, with applications in sustainable agriculture and biotechnology.

His research addresses ecological and genetic factors influencing virus speciation in Iberian ecosystems, seed transmission mechanisms in Arabidopsis thaliana, and collaborations on animal/human RNA virus evolution.
