Jesus Villalba

Jesus Villalba is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, and an affiliate of the Center for Language and Speech Processing (CLSP). He holds a dual affiliation with the Whiting School of Engineering and CLSP.

Education:

• M.S. in Telecommunications Engineering (2004), University of Zaragoza, Spain
• Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (2014), University of Zaragoza, Spain

Research Interests: His work focuses on information extraction from speech, including speaker identity, language, age, emotion, and speaker diarization. He also explores unsupervised learning techniques for speech applications, with emphasis on robustness in adverse environments.

Professional History:

• Joined CLSP as a Postdoctoral Fellow in October 2016
• Appointed as Assistant Research Professor in 2019
