Jesus Gorrin Leon

Jesus Gorrin Leon is an Assistant Professor at the Warwick Business School (WBS), part of the University of Warwick. His research focuses on the intersection of labour economics and corporate finance, examining firm-level investment responses to shocks in labor supply, socio-economic changes, and internal funding dynamics. He holds a PhD in Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE), and prior to academia, worked in consulting and banking sectors.

Teaching responsibilities include the Foundations of Financial Management (IB1250) module for BSc International Management and BSc Management programmes. His research interests span corporate finance, empirical finance, and entrepreneurship. Recent work includes analyzing the economic repercussions of geopolitical events such as warfare on organized crime and trade patterns, as exemplified by his 2023 study on Mexico.
