Jesus Abad Puente

Jesus Abad Puente is a faculty member at the Escola Politècnica Superior d'Edificació de Barcelona (EPSEB), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where he serves as a Professor in the Department of Organisation of Enterprises. He is an active researcher in occupational health and safety, management systems integration, and industrial safety, with a strong publication record in leading journals and international conferences.

His research focuses on occupational safety, particularly the integration of management systems (quality, environment, and OHS), risk perception, and safety performance in construction. He investigates how OHSAS 18001 certification impacts organizational performance and how high-performance work practices influence Industry 4.0 adoption in SMEs. His work also explores labor experience, safety training, and their effects on safety perceptions in the workplace.

His recent publications span topics such as territorial efficiency in public work safety, modeling injury rates in industrialized construction, and the challenges of integrating management systems. These works reflect a consistent focus on empirical analysis, system integration, and practical safety improvements in industrial and construction settings.

He has advised several doctoral students, including Daniel Llinas Sala, Henrry Ricardo Cabrera, Carlos Manuel Adrianzen Cabrera, and Úrsula Maria Freundt Thurne. His research is conducted within the GRO - Grup de Recerca en Organització, contributing to interdisciplinary collaborations across UPC.
