Jessica Siegele

Dr. Jessica Siegele is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Recreation and Sport Administration at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Her research focuses on gender equity in athletics, NCAA governance, and diversity in sports leadership. She investigates systemic barriers faced by women and minorities in athletic administration through qualitative and policy analysis.

Her scholarly work examines gender bias in collegiate sports, career experiences of female coaches and administrators, and the role of Faculty Athletic Representatives. Recent publications analyze Cherokee women's stickball as cultural preservation and explore intersectional challenges for ethnic minority athletic directors.

Dr. Siegele maintains an active research agenda with publications in sports sociology and management journals. Her office hours are Monday and Tuesday afternoons at the Jones Health and Physical Education Center.
