Jessica Senior

Jessica Senior is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Huddersfield, within the School of Applied Sciences. She is a member of the Biopolymer Research Centre and the Institute of Skin Integrity and Infection Prevention. Her research focuses on bioprinting technologies, hydrogel fabrication, and their applications in wound healing and tissue engineering. Dr. Senior actively supervises PhD students and has contributed to over 10 peer-reviewed publications since 2019.

Her research interests include developing bio-inspired wound models for clinical training, optimizing hydrogel materials for 3D bioprinting, and investigating cell migration mechanisms in cancer and wound healing contexts. She has presented her work at international conferences, including discussions on 3D printed skin equivalents and debridement training models.

Key contributions include the development of agarose fluid gels for suspended bioprinting and studies on calcium ion effects in tissue engineering. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and innovation.
