Jessica Powell is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of York's Department of Health Sciences. A registered nurse since 1999, she specializes in cardiology, acute care, simulation-based education, and curriculum development.

Her research focuses on simulation pedagogy and curriculum innovation, particularly in interdisciplinary contexts with paramedics and pre-hospital care professionals. She has pioneered high-fidelity simulation applications in nursing education and chemical safety training.

Jessica led the Adult Nursing field (2009–2017) and served as Programme Leader for BSc and Masters in Nursing (2017–2022). She coordinates basic life support training and first aid programs, while actively participating in national nursing education steering groups (NMC, RCN, RCUK).
