Dr. Jessica Pereira is an Anniversary Research Fellow at the School of Electronics and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering, University of Southampton. She holds a PhD from the University of Warwick, UK, and previously worked as a Research Fellow in organic materials for energy generation and storage at the University of Nottingham's Carbon Neutral Laboratory within the Propulsion Futures Beacon of Excellence.
Her research focuses on functional materials for electronic applications, particularly conductive metal nano/microstructures, metal inks, surface engineering, and organic photovoltaics. She has contributed to advancements in copper-based materials for flexible electronics and sustainable synthesis methods.

- 2023: Spin Seebeck effect in Bi2Se3 interlayers and thermoelectric polymers
- 2022: L-alanine-functionalized copper particles for stable films
- 2019: Transparent electrodes for organic photovoltaics
- 2018: Hole-transport layers in perovskite solar cells and aperture-engineered electrodes
- 2017: Oxidation resistance in copper nanoparticles and light-catching electrodes
Dr. Pereira received the Royal Society of Chemistry Energy Sector PhD Thesis Award in 2019. She actively supervises PhD students and participates in external roles such as invited speaker at international conferences on materials science and gender equality in STEM.
