Jessica Monette is a Lecturer in Art Practice at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she works as a multidisciplinary artist exploring Black existence through diverse mediums. Originally from New Orleans, she currently operates in the Bay Area artistic community.

Monette's research centers on cultural retention throughout the African diaspora, ancestral influences, colonialism, identity politics, and systemic marginalization, with specific focus on Hurricane Katrina's political and social aftermath. Her artistic methodology oscillates between painting, sculpture, and installation to critically examine these interconnected themes through a contemporary lens.
