Jessica Dirkes is a Resident Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Public Health department at Occidental College, where she has served since 2019. She coordinates the Public Health program and focuses on academic-community partnerships to enhance student learning and support local health organizations.

Her research emphasizes collaborative efforts between academic institutions and community health organizations, with a focus on experiential learning to build public health career readiness. Prior to academia, she spent 10 years in public health practice, specializing in HIV prevention and health education. She teaches courses such as Introduction to Public Health, Epidemiology, and Women’s Health.
