Jesse Potts is an Associate Professor of Art at the University of Maine at Farmington. His work spans sculpture, installation art, and time-based media, exploring themes of sensory perception, culture, and mortality through kinetic and interactive components.
Education:
- 2012: MFA in Sculpture + Extended Media, Virginia Commonwealth University
- 2005: BFA, School of Art and Design, Alfred University
Research Interests: Jesse’s practice integrates constructed objects, found materials, video, light, and performance. His work examines the interplay between time, perception, and human existence, often manifesting as residual traces of meditative processes. Key influences include cultural narratives and existential inquiries.
