Jessalyn Alvina is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC), affiliated with the Designing for People Research Network (DFP). She works under Joanna McGrenere and focuses on enhancing multi-device interaction through gradual learning and leveraging human motor control for rich data processing. Her research integrates human learning, interactive technology, and personalization to improve productivity and user experience across devices.
Education & Professional Background:
- PhD in 2017: INRIA Saclay and Université Paris-Saclay, advised by Wendy Mackay.
- Master's Research: LRI (in|situ Lab), advised by Caroline Appert and Olivier Chapuis.
- Research Assistant: National University of Singapore (NUS) HCI Lab, advised by Shengdong Zhao.
Research Focus: Her work emphasizes designing systems that adapt to users' evolving skills and physical capabilities.
