Jerry Buckland

Dr. Jerry Buckland is a Professor of International Development Studies at Menno Simons College, affiliated with Canadian Mennonite University (CMU). He has dedicated 25+ years to academia, focusing on poverty alleviation, financial resilience, and equitable development. His research explores credit schemes, microfinance, and financial literacy's impact on vulnerable populations. He teaches courses like Action Research Methods and Program Evaluation, emphasizing practical applications of research in development contexts.

Dr. Buckland’s work includes a SSHRC grant ($263,000) for research on financial systems, and he has authored/co-edited books on topics like payday lending and asset-building strategies. His interests extend to the societal impact of big data corporations and faith-based ethical leadership.
