Jeremy Verwys is an Adjunct Professor of Guitar at Cornerstone University’s School of Ministry, Media & the Arts. He teaches applied guitar lessons and integrates his expertise in music therapy and performance into his pedagogy. Professor Verwys co-owns West Michigan Music Therapy, providing therapeutic sessions for clients of all ages using music as a transformative tool. He holds dual Master of Music degrees in Music Therapy and Performance from Illinois State University, alongside a Bachelor of Music in Performance and an Associate of Music.

His professional focus bridges clinical practice and artistic expression, emphasizing the therapeutic applications of music. Verwys maintains a private teaching practice offering lessons in guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano for students aged 6 to 86. He is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and actively performs throughout Michigan.
Outside academia, Verwys enjoys running, biking, bicycle repair, and family time. His personal creative work includes writing and performing original music.
