معرفی
Dr. Jeremy Deans is an Associate Professor of Geology at the University of Southern Mississippi. His research focuses on the formation and deformation of the oceanic lithosphere, particularly in slow- and fast-spreading ridges and ophiolites. He employs methods such as microstructural analysis, petrophysical tools, and compositional studies.
Education:
- B.S. in Geology, Cornell University (2007)
- M.S. in Igneous Petrology and Geochemistry, Texas Tech University (2010)
- Ph.D. in Structural Geology and Petrology, Texas Tech University (2016)
Research Interests: Structural Geology, Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Oceanic Lithosphere Dynamics, and Tectonic Processes. His work integrates field studies, mineralogical analysis, and geophysical data to understand magmatic and tectonic systems.
Teaching:
- Undergraduate courses: Mineralogy, Petrology, Structural Geology, Field Geology
- Graduate courses: Tectonics, Advanced Field Mapping, Geochemistry
Dr. Deans has published extensively on oceanic core complexes, magma reservoir evolution, and slow-spreading ridge dynamics. His research contributes to understanding crustal accretion and deformation processes in marine environments.
