معرفی
Jeremy Bourhill is a Research Fellow in the School of Physics, Maths and Computing at The University of Western Australia (UWA). He is part of the Quantum Technologies and Dark Matter Research Group, and a member of two ARC Centres of Excellence: EQUS (2018-24) and the Dark Matter Particle Physics Centre (2020-27). His research focuses on precision measurements in quantum systems, including dark matter detection, optomechanics, and cavity magnonics. He holds a PhD in Physics from UWA (2016) on macroscopic mechanical devices for quantum gravity tests. Recent work includes commercializing 3D-printed microwave resonators for chiral molecular sensing, supported by a 2024 Australia Economic Accelerator grant.
Education: PhD in Quantum Hybrid Systems in Low-Loss Crystalline Solids from UWA (2016). Skills include COMSOL, CAD design, Python, and advanced experimental techniques in quantum systems.
Research interests span dark matter experiments, quantum gravity tests using macroscopic oscillators, and applications of microwave resonators in precision sensing. His work contributes to UN SDGs related to innovation and industry.
Key awards include Best ECR-led Project (2023), Defence West Aspire Award, and the EQUS Director's Medal (2022). He has over 30 journal publications and two patents, with grants totaling AUD millions. Current projects include Quantum Australia (2024-27) and microwave cavity development for chiral spectroscopy.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Quantum Technologies group at UWA, collaborating nationally and internationally on axion detection, magnonics, and quantum metrology.
