Jeong Lim Kim is an Associate Professor and Director of the Undergraduate Criminal Justice Program at Mercy University's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Their research focuses on policing strategies, police subculture, occupational stress, crime prevention, and corrections. Kim employs metacognitive teaching methods and integrates multimedia resources to enhance student engagement and critical thinking. They have published extensively in criminology and criminal justice journals, with notable works analyzing police use of force, CCTV effectiveness, and cross-cultural crime prevention strategies. Key contributions include reports for governmental agencies in South Korea and Trinidad and Tobago on policing and crime reduction. Kim has secured nine funded grants since joining Mercy University and actively participates in curriculum development, including revamping the Senior Seminar course. Their work bridges academic scholarship with practical applications in criminal justice policy and education.
Research interests span police misconduct, crime prevention technologies, and organizational stressors in law enforcement.
